Games to play outside without a ball
They could not get enough!! I am surprised I just learned these from my boys this week. Wish I had known them back when they were younger. We love 4 Corners and Sardines around here! This is a great list of games to play without toys outside. Thank you for sharing!!! I remember my older 3 playing it in elementary but it was only a few times. These are fantastic ideas! I have never heard of any of these games before and will remember them for the future!
I used to LOVE 4 corners!!! I now have a few more games to play with my little one. Now we have a few more games to play in the backyard. Thank you for the list. I can totally see my older kids getting into these games with their friends! They love running around no matter what age…LOL. My kids love to play outside! We try to get them out most days. I think the favorite game is when I set up obstacle courses for them to run through.
Sharing with my mommy0-friends to play with their little ones. Such fun things to do outside! For children that love baseball, this is the perfect outdoor ball game. It may simply be a gloried version of throw and catch, but it is actually a whole heap of fun, especially when you start making it tougher and begin throwing the ball from further and further away. As the name implies, this game is all about keeping hold of a ball.
Best played in large groups, the children will split into teams and there will be a time limit set for each game. Sticking with a potato theme we next have Hot Potato Hide and Seek. A simple, yet extremely fun game, hit the bat is great fun.
Dodgeball is another game that is best played in teams and is a whole lot of fun. This is a game played between three children, and is great, especially if the kids in question enjoy basketball. This game is based loosely on dodgeball and is ideal for children who are especially brave.
It also MUST be played with a softball, otherwise, there will be tears. Finally, we have to say and catch. Now, sadly, as modern technology has advanced so much over the years, the primary way in which many children in the developed world are having fun, is online by playing indoors on computers and smart devices. The problem, however, is that by playing indoors, by themselves, the children in question often become isolated and may not develop very strong social skills.
Not only that, but by being stuck indoors all the time, the children also lack exercise and physical activity, meaning that their health and fitness suffer, and they become far more prone to weight gain and obesity.
In an ideal world, the children in question would instead spend far more time playing outdoors with their friends. Here is a list of my favorite ball games for kids: 1. The aim of the game is for a child to kick the ball and avoid the guard. Once a player has been tagged, they have to go and stand on the sidelines as they are out of the game. If a player avoids the guard and kicks the ball, they win that round and become the guard for the next game.
Basically, this game is played when one player takes the role of handling the ball, while the other players take themselves out to the field. The handler of the ball will kick it into the air and out into the field, and the aim of the game is for the fielders to intercept it as quickly as possible.
If a player catches the ball before it bounces, they earn points. The winner of the game is the first player to reach points hence the name. Bowling Thought you needed a bowling alley and bowling balls to have a fun-filled game of bowling? You should set an equal number of innings. The winning team will score the most runs at the end.
Soccer is a popular pastime for many children. While the official soccer rules provide all the information, if you are just playing for fun, it is possible to keep things simple.
Divide your group of eight children into two teams. You will give them a soccer ball. Tell them to kick it in the goal of their opponent.
No hands! The winner is the team that has scored the most goals. This is, which is why Americans call soccer rather than football. American football is a popular sport with kids. However, playing youth football requires a lot more equipment, safety gear, and rules than a game. Divide at least eight children into two teams. You can set up a field with a goal-line at each end and ask them to carry or throw the football across the line.
Avoid injuries by touching and not tackling. Although hitting a ball with the bat requires more coordination than other sports, it is still a fun challenge for children.
There are many rules for little leagues. Go to your local baseball diamond with at least 10 kids and divide them into two teams. You can score points by hitting the ball, bouncing it around, and bringing it home. However, you can get younger children started with this all in one set, which includes a bat, a ball, and a glove. Well, all you need is a net! Nothing is more fun than throwing a basketball into a hole.
This is the essence of basketball. Bring a basketball to your local court. Divide at least 10 children into two teams.
Each child will be given a basket and they must pass, throw, or bounce it to their teammates. This will help them score baskets. Sports equipment is a great gift idea for kids with summer birthdays. You can utilize it immediately. Hopscotch, another classic game that you can play with chalk, is also available. Draw a hopscotch-style board for your child ren on a flat, smooth surface.
You should have a board made of basic shapes connected with numbers that indicate the order in which they should be jumped. Children who are younger than you or have never used a hopscotch board before may require your assistance. Each child picks a token, usually a small wood chip or rock. In order, they take turns placing the token onto a space.
They jump the entire board if the token hits the space. However, they will not skip the area where their token is. Therefore, the winner is the child who completes the entire board.
Jacks is a great board game that you can play in the heat or when your kids are tired from running. You can play it with up to four children, but you can buy more jacks sets so you can have more. Place the children in a circle, on a smooth, paved surface. The first child throws the jacks into a circle. Freeze Tag. Crayon Rubbing. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Sign Up.
